Pastor Secures Freedom for Eight Inmates, Donates Medical Supplies
Online pastor and author Bayo Adeyinka, popularly known as “Greater Bayo,” has facilitated the release of eight inmates from Ikoyi Correctional Centre, Lagos, in celebration of his 50th birthday.
As part of a prison outreach on Monday, Adeyinka paid the inmates’ fines during a brief ceremony at the centre’s chapel, emphasizing the biblical significance of the “Year of Jubilee” as a period of freedom.
“It is an honor to facilitate the release of eight of our brothers today through the payment of their fines in commemoration of my 50th birthday,” he said. “I recently launched two books, and I pledge that proceeds from the sales, along with donations from my birthday, will support this project.”
To aid their reintegration, he also gave each of the released inmates ₦20,000 for transportation and urged them to stay away from crime while extending kindness to others in need.
In addition, Adeyinka donated medical supplies, including antibiotics, anti-malarial drugs, painkillers, blood boosters, and syringes, to the facility’s clinic. He also provided sanitary pads for 268 female inmates at Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre, ensuring their needs were met for the rest of the year.
