Aisha Shateema Rabo, a seasoned Nigerian photojournalist and defence correspondent, has emerged as the third runner-up of the just concluded African Empire Reality TV Show, Season 3 Heroes Edition.
The reality show, which ran from July 29 to August 20, 2025, showcased participants from across Africa, testing their creativity, resilience, and ability to inspire positive change. Rabo distinguished herself through her storytelling skills, strong personality, and commitment to issues affecting society, earning her a place among the finalists.
Beyond the spotlight of the show, Rabo has built a solid career in journalism spanning more than a decade. She currently serves as Defence Correspondent for OurNigeria News Magazine and OurNigeriaTV24, where she delivers in-depth reports on national security and defence matters. Before then, she worked with Neptune Prime Online Newspaper in Abuja as a reporter and marketer, and also served as Public Relations Assistant with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN).
Her career journey began during her industrial attachment with Bauchi Radio and Television Corporation in 2008, where she first honed her reporting skills. Over the years, she has cultivated expertise in investigative journalism, documentary production, and multimedia storytelling.
Rabo holds a Diplome de Licence from Institut Superieur Bilingue Libre du Togo and has further enriched her knowledge through professional trainings, including a certification in Digital Marketing Strategy from the African School of Sales & Marketing. She has also participated in high-profile events such as the Africa Security Watch Conference in Banjul, The Gambia.
Her passion for amplifying underrepresented voices and telling impactful stories has earned her recognition beyond journalism. In April 2025, she was named winner of the 17th edition of the Master at Photos contest, underscoring her excellence in visual storytelling.
Speaking about her motivation during the show, Rabo emphasised that her journey was not just about personal achievement but about inspiring others, particularly the vulnerable in society, to believe in their dreams.
