Phyna defends herself after backlash for partying soon after sister’s burial

Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has responded to criticism over a viral video showing her partying with actress Regina Daniels shortly after her sister’s burial.

The video, which captured Phyna dancing and smiling at a nightclub, drew backlash from social media users who accused her of being insensitive and moving on too quickly.

Addressing the criticism, Phyna stated that grief is a deeply personal journey with no set rules or timelines. She explained that her decision to smile or attend social events does not diminish the pain she feels over her sister’s death.

“Grief has no manual, no fixed face, and no timetable. The fact that I choose to keep living, smiling, or sharing moments does not erase the pain I carry. Respect the process, even if you do not understand it. If you cannot extend compassion, then at least extend silence,” she said.

The reality TV star urged her followers to show empathy and respect for how individuals choose to cope with loss.

Actress Regina Daniels also defended Phyna, urging people to stop judging others for their healing process.
