The police on Tuesday arraigned a 32-year-old filling station attendant, Olayemi Abidemi, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over an alleged theft of N4.6 million.
Abidemi, a staff member of Decentkem Petrol Station, Toll Gate, Ibadan, was charged with stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Elisha Tellang, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in September and November at the filling station.
Tellang alleged that the defendant stole N4 million and 600 litres of diesel valued at N600,000, belonging to the petrol station.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Moyosore Atanda, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
She held that the sureties must be blood relations of the defendant and adjourned the case until Jan. 26, 2026, for hearing.
