Police Arrest Two Over Theft of Church Generator Battery in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two young men for allegedly stealing a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from the LCCN Cathedral in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Dad Yusuf and 17-year-old Gibson Husseini, both residents of Upper Luggere, were apprehended on June 28, 2025, by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID).

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects confessed to stealing the battery from the church premises on the night of June 23, around 11:00 p.m.

Nguroje added that investigations are ongoing to uncover possible accomplices and recover other stolen items. He assured that the suspects would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
