The Ogun State Police Command has successfully rescued a seven-year-old girl, Mercy Akande, who was abducted in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the victim was located and freed in Ayetoro Town by the anti-kidnapping unit, led by Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo.
“The suspects responsible for the abduction were apprehended during the operation,” Odutola disclosed, adding that the perpetrators had demanded a ransom from the child’s parents while holding her captive.
Further details regarding the suspects or the ransom demand were not provided in the statement.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating crime and urged residents to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities promptly.
