A tragic accident claimed the life of a pregnant woman on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Lambata, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State, when a commercial bus rammed into a residential building.
The ill-fated bus, traveling from Lagos to Kano, veered off the road and crashed into the family compound of the late Village Head of Lambata, Abdulsafur Lambata. Witnesses reported that the victim, a traveler stranded after her vehicle broke down nearby, was resting in front of the building when the bus lost control and struck her.
Sources indicate that the bus driver was speeding when the vehicle failed to brake, leading to the fatal collision.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and community members have called for improved road safety measures to prevent further tragedies.
