Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered his 2025 New Year address, reflecting on the country’s achievements in 2024 and outlining priorities for the year ahead. The speech, broadcast through China Media Group and online platforms, emphasized progress in high-quality development, technological innovation, and global cooperation.
President Xi highlighted key milestones, including China’s economic recovery with GDP exceeding 130 trillion yuan and grain production surpassing 700 million tons. Achievements in green development and regional integration were also celebrated. Technological advancements such as breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, quantum communications, and the Chang’e-6 lunar mission were showcased as symbols of national ambition.
Acknowledging the public’s needs, Xi outlined improvements in social services, including enhanced pension schemes, reduced mortgage rates, and streamlined medical settlements across provinces. “Ensuring a happy life for our people remains our top priority,” he stated.
