Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been named the winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or, football’s most prestigious individual award, at a glittering ceremony in Paris on Monday night.

The French international enjoyed a phenomenal 2024/25 season, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists across all competitions. His performances were pivotal in PSG’s historic treble-winning campaign, which included their long-awaited first UEFA Champions League triumph, along with the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France.

For Dembélé, the accolade marks the pinnacle of a career once overshadowed by persistent injuries and inconsistency. Now 28, he has fulfilled the potential many recognized in him as a teenager, cementing his place among football’s elite.

The PSG star beat out strong competition, including Barcelona’s 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal, to claim the Golden Ball. His win not only highlights his personal resurgence but also underscores PSG’s growing global dominance, with the club also honoured as Team of the Year at the ceremony.
