Qatar, Algeria Iink Air Transport Deal to Boost Flights, Trade
Qatar and Algeria have signed a new air transport agreement allowing for unlimited passenger and cargo flights between both countries, in a move aimed at strengthening trade, tourism, and aviation ties.
The agreement, signed Tuesday in Doha by the transportation ministers of both nations, was announced by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport. It marks a key step in expanding civil aviation cooperation and improving air connectivity between the two states.
Under the deal, designated airlines from Qatar and Algeria will be able to operate unlimited flights, offering greater flexibility for carriers and enhancing bilateral commercial links.
Officials at the meeting also discussed broader transportation sector collaboration, with a focus on infrastructure development and future joint projects in civil aviation.
The new agreement aligns with Qatar’s strategy to grow its global aviation network and support the expansion of Qatar Airways. It comes as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and establish itself as a major hub for global air travel.
Doha has increasingly positioned itself as a key player in global aviation, expanding flight routes across Africa, Asia, and other regions, particularly as the industry recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
