Qatar Restores Office Work After Iranian Attacks Subside

Qatar has resumed in-person work across government institutions after nearly three weeks of remote operations triggered by Iranian attacks, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

Public sector employees returned to their workplaces following an official directive to restore normal operations from March 24, according to local media reports.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said the decision followed a security review, noting that conditions had improved in recent days.

“Life cannot be disrupted indefinitely,” he said at a press briefing in Doha, adding that no attacks have been recorded recently and that contingency plans remain in place.

The government had initially introduced remote work measures on February 28 amid escalating tensions involving Iran, following strikes linked to the United States and Israel, and subsequent retaliatory actions by Tehran targeting regional interests, including Qatar.

On March 8, authorities extended the policy, allowing up to 70% of employees in government entities to work from home, with priority given to mothers and vulnerable groups.

According to official data compiled from Defence Ministry statements, at least 206 missiles, 87 drones, and two fighter jets were intercepted during the period of heightened tensions.

The last reported incident occurred on March 19, when missiles targeted Ras Laffan Industrial City, a major centre for global energy production.

Officials say the return to office work reflects growing confidence in the country’s security situation, while maintaining readiness for any future developments.
