Reality TV Star Charged With Murder After Boyfriend Found Beheaded in Australia
Former Beauty and the Geek contestant Tamika Chesser has been charged with the brutal murder and dismemberment of her boyfriend, Julian Daniel Story, in a chilling case that has shocked Australia.
Emergency responders discovered Story’s headless, dismembered body in the bathroom of the Port Lincoln apartment the couple shared after responding to reports of a small fire on June 19. Chesser, 34, was arrested at the scene in a catatonic state and is currently being held at James Nash House, a secure mental health facility.
Chesser’s sister, Kiya-May, told Daily Mail Australia that the former reality star was “in a mental psychosis,” adding, “This is not her. She would never do these things.” She said Chesser had suffered long-term trauma and mental illness since appearing on the show in 2010.
South Australia Police confirmed that the victim’s head has not been found. “We know that after his alleged murder, Julian’s body was dismembered,” Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said. “We have not recovered the head of Julian Story.”
Police are appealing to the public for help tracing Chesser’s movements around Port Lincoln, noting that she did not drive and was often seen walking in the area.
In addition to the murder charge, Chesser faces charges of assaulting police and attempting to conceal the crime by interfering with the victim’s remains. Court documents indicate she was seen walking her dogs near the property shortly before the discovery of the body.
Witnesses reported seeing black smoke coming from the home. One neighbor entered the house to douse the flames and later alerted emergency services, who found the severely burned remains.
Following her arrest, Chesser appeared via video link in court, where a suppression order on her identity was lifted. She has been denied bail, with a committal hearing scheduled for December.
Julian Story’s family released a statement thanking first responders for their compassion, saying they were “navigating an unimaginable loss.” They also expressed gratitude to the local community for its support during their time of grief.
Chesser rose to fame as the runner-up on Beauty and the Geek in 2010 and later featured in men’s magazines such as Playboy, Ralph, and FHM.
