Reno Omokri Alleges Peter Obi’s Donations and Public Acts of Humility Are Politically Motivated
Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has criticized Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, claiming that his donations to schools and acts of humility are part of a calculated political strategy.
In a post shared on social media platform X, Omokri alleged that Obi only began making public donations and personally serving food at events after deciding to run for president. According to him, these actions are not evidence of genuine servant leadership but rather an attempt to influence voters.
“Peter Obi never donated money to schools and individuals until he wanted to run for office. He also did not start serving food at parties until he needed your votes,” Omokri wrote.
Describing the former Anambra State governor’s behavior as “manipulative,” Omokri accused Obi of acting out a carefully crafted script to project an image of humility.
“People who only initiate generosity and humility during elections are not servant leaders. They are skilled actors,” he added.
Omokri also referenced the controversial leaked audio in which Obi allegedly discussed a “religious war,” questioning the authenticity of his public persona.
“Is this not the same Peter Obi who, when he thought no one would hear him, was plotting ‘religious war’ against the Muslim Ummah?” he asked.
He concluded by saying that genuine humility and generosity should not be election-driven and warned that such behavior often fades after votes are counted.
“Generosity and humility that come because of the election will also go after the election. Don’t worry, Peter, Nigerians will serve you breakfast too in 2027!”
