Hungary’s energy cooperation with Russia has endured difficult times and will continue despite challenges, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday.

Following talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Szijjarto reaffirmed that both countries remain committed to sustaining their energy partnership.

“Energy cooperation between Hungary and Russia has endured the most challenging times, and despite all difficulties, we have managed to maintain the security of our country’s power supply,” he stated on social media.

Szijjarto also highlighted the success of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL’s operations in Russia, noting that the firm could expand its presence in the Russian market.

“The good news is that MOL’s mining operations in Russia are exceptionally prosperous, providing an opportunity to strengthen its role in the country,” he added.
