Russia Launches Overnight Missile Attacks Across Ukraine

Russian forces carried out another wave of overnight missile strikes across several regions of Ukraine, including Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Zhytomyr, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Explosions were reported in multiple locations, among them the capital, Kiev. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that several blasts were heard in the city, adding that air defence systems were actively responding to the attacks.

Ukrainian media reported that hypersonic Kinzhal missiles were used during the strikes, with energy infrastructure believed to be among the targets. Authorities were still assessing the scale of damage as of Saturday morning.

Ukraine has continued to defend itself against Russia’s full-scale invasion, which began in February 2022.
