Russia Says Europe Yet to Signal Interest in Ukraine Peace Talks
The Kremlin has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not received any indication from European nations expressing willingness to engage in negotiations to end the ongoing war in Ukraine.
“There have been no signals so far,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in Moscow on Friday.
Peskov was responding to recent comments by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who proposed that one or two European countries, possibly France or the United Kingdom, should represent Europe in talks with Moscow regarding the conflict.
Despite this suggestion, Russia maintains that no formal communication or initiative has emerged from European capitals concerning peace negotiations.
So far, discussions about resolving the war have largely involved Russia and the United States, with European nations and Ukraine excluded from the talks.
