Russia Warns Trump Against Backing Israel’s Strikes on Iran

The Russian government has issued a stern warning to former U.S. President Donald Trump and the United States against supporting Israel’s ongoing bombing campaign against Iran.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday that any military assistance from the U.S. to Israel could dangerously escalate tensions across the Middle East. Speaking to Russia’s Interfax news agency, Ryabkov urged Washington to reconsider any plans to support Israeli strikes.

“We caution the United States against supplying military support to Israel or even considering such a move,” Ryabkov stated, adding that the Kremlin remains in active communication with both Israel and Iran.

The warning came as tensions between the U.S. and Iran deepened, with White House officials reportedly giving Iran 24 to 48 hours to surrender or risk direct American military intervention. The urgency follows Trump’s suggestion that he may join Israel’s military efforts.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump claimed he knows the whereabouts of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but was holding back from launching a strike — for now. “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” he wrote.

Israel, meanwhile, has hinted at launching a major operation Thursday night, with officials promising a “surprise” reminiscent of previous targeted attacks on Hezbollah leaders.

Reports from ABC News reveal that Trump, growing increasingly frustrated with Tehran’s reaction to Israel’s initial bombing, met with top military advisers in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday. Insiders say Trump is eager to assert American power and avoid the perception of being outmaneuvered by Iran.

A White House spokesperson confirmed that while U.S. military forces remain in a “defensive posture”, warships and aircraft are being repositioned in strategic areas across the Middle East.

Crisis talks continue behind closed doors, with Trump weighing the possibility of a direct U.S. strike on Tehran as the standoff intensifies.
