Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Mushin Local Government Area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering more democratic dividends across the state.

Represented by his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the governor unveiled the newly constructed Abibat Mogaji Market—formerly known as Mushin Market—and the Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon Ultra-Modern Office Complex, which houses several federal government agencies and a radio station.

Describing the projects as “transformative,” Sanwo-Olu said the new developments would significantly improve the standard of living for Mushin residents.

“We are really very happy that we are delivering the dividends of democracy to residents,” the governor said.

He emphasized the convenience the office complex would offer to residents, stating:
“I am sure residents will find it easy and convenient to access any of the federal agencies in the complex. Anyone who needs anything from these federal agencies can approach them and do their businesses with ease.”

Sanwo-Olu also said the newly established radio station would serve as a vital platform for disseminating information about Mushin and its surroundings.

The governor commended the outgoing chairman of Mushin Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to community development.

He expressed confidence in the capability of the newly elected chairman, Mr. Haruna Aruwe, to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor.

“The newly elected chairman is already part of the system. He has learned a lot and I am sure he will do well,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“The outgoing chairman has set high standards for the incoming chairman. So, we expect double of what Bamigboye has done; in four years it must be doubled.”

Sanwo-Olu urged residents to be proactive in preparing for the 2027 general elections by ensuring they register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Also speaking at the event, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, echoed the governor’s call for civic participation.

Ojelabi noted, “With their PVCs, they can exercise their civic rights and enjoy the dividends of democracy.”

The commissioning event drew praise from community members, stakeholders, and political leaders, who hailed the new projects as timely and impactful for the people of Mushin.
