Schools Reopen in India, Pakistan Amid Ceasefire Calm

1 29

Schools across India and Pakistan have reopened following a ceasefire agreement that brought a pause to recent hostilities, offering a glimpse of hope to border communities long affected by conflict.

The truce, reached after a brief military escalation, has allowed educational institutions to resume operations in several regions. In India, students returned to classrooms in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and other non-border areas. On the Pakistani side, districts such as Kurram also welcomed students back, thanks to local peace efforts.

While the ceasefire has largely held, some Indian border districts, including Amritsar and Tarn Taran in Punjab, remain cautious—keeping schools closed or shifting to remote learning due to ongoing security concerns.

The return of students to school is being seen as a sign of resilience and a hopeful step toward stability. Still, experts say lasting peace will depend on sustained diplomatic dialogue and trust-building between the two nations.
