Second Man Charged in UK Assault Case Linked to Chris Brown
UK police have charged a second individual in connection with an alleged assault involving American singer Chris Brown, which reportedly occurred at a London venue on February 19, 2023.
According to the Metropolitan Police, 38-year-old U.S. national Omololu Akinlolu has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear before the Manchester Magistrates’ Court in northwestern England.
This development follows the recent charging of Grammy-winning artist Chris Brown, 36, who was remanded in custody by a Manchester court on Friday. Brown also faces a charge of grievous bodily harm related to the same incident in Hanover Square, central London.
Brown, best known for hits like “Kiss, Kiss,” was arrested after arriving in Manchester via private jet on Wednesday. Media reports say he was taken into custody at a five-star hotel in the city.
The court’s decision to deny Brown bail has raised uncertainty around his upcoming European tour, with scheduled performances in the Netherlands on June 8 and Germany on June 11 already sold out.
The singer has a history of legal troubles, including a felony conviction for assaulting pop star Rihanna in 2009.
The case continues to draw international attention as both suspects now await their respective court proceedings.
