Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Friday confirmed that several people were killed and others injured following a tragic incident at a bus stop in central Stockholm.

In a message shared on X, Kristersson described the situation as deeply heartbreaking, noting that the victims were ordinary people “on their way home to family, friends or a quiet evening at home.”

He said the cause of the incident remains unknown, and authorities are working to determine what happened.

Police officers, ambulance teams, and rescue services rushed to the scene and continue to carry out what Kristersson called “a very difficult and important job.” He urged the public to cooperate with emergency personnel and respect their ongoing work.
