Shettima Arrives in Sweden for Two-Day Visit to Boost Bilateral Ties

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Stockholm, Sweden, for a two-day working visit aimed at strengthening trade and bilateral relations between Nigeria and Sweden.

Shettima’s plane landed at Arlanda International Airport at 9:53 p.m. (Nigerian time) on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and key officials from federal agencies.

On arrival, the Vice-President was greeted by Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Annika Hahn-Englund, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Dr. Bosun Tijani, and Aliyu Mahmud, Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires in Sweden, among others.

During the visit, Shettima will engage in high-level discussions with Swedish leaders, including Crown Princess Victoria and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, to explore opportunities for collaboration in sectors such as Information Communication Technology (ICT), innovation, education, digitalisation, sustainable transport, agriculture, and mining.

According to the Vice-President’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima will also highlight Nigeria’s economic vision and the reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration to create a more conducive environment for foreign investors.
