Vice-President Kashim Shettima returned to Abuja on Friday after performing the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Masjid al-Haram (Holy Mosque) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, disclosed details of the spiritual journey.
During his time in Makkah, Shettima offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and prosperity. He also prayed for divine guidance for leaders at all levels of government.
“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” Shettima was quoted as saying.
Before embarking on the pilgrimage, the vice-president had represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility by Oriental Energy Resources Limited in Dubai, UAE.
