Nigerian singer Teni has opened up about her recent struggle with malaria, revealing that she was severely ill for two weeks but still had to perform due to financial commitments.
In a video shared online, Teni humorously reflected on her ordeal, referencing lyrics from her song Uyo Meyo: “What my eyes have seen.” She explained, “My eyes have really seen something. Malaria.”
The singer recounted how she was weak and unable to eat, joking about her appearance: “If you see my neck now, I look like a turkey.” Despite her condition, she performed in Ondo, emphasizing that she couldn’t afford to cancel shows.
Teni also made light of her financial responsibilities, saying, “Any money that enters my account does not come back out.” She concluded with a message in her video’s caption: “Money cannot buy you health o, na God.”
