Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has called on corps members posted to the state to leverage the opportunities his administration is creating in the technology innovation sector.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members held at the permanent orientation camp in Mbaukwu/Umuawulu on Friday, Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, commended the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for its dedication to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

The governor highlighted his administration’s strides in waste management and environmental conservation under the Clean and Green Initiative, aimed at improving the quality of life in urban areas. He encouraged the corps members to support the program.

“My administration has also prioritized youth development through our Solution Innovation District, where we have empowered 20,000 youths with digital skills,” Soludo said.

“We have the Solution Sports Initiative, uncovering and nurturing sporting talents, and the One Youth Two Skills Solution, which provides vocational and entrepreneurial training. As Corps Members, I urge you to seize these opportunities, contribute your talents, and actively participate in programs that will equip you with skills for success,” he added.

In her remarks, Mrs. Blessing Iruma, the Anambra State Coordinator of the NYSC, announced that 1,830 corps members, comprising 722 males and 1,108 females, were participating in the orientation course.

“The swearing-in officially marks the beginning of a journey that will transform corps members into leaders and change-makers of the future,” Iruma said.

She also appreciated Governor Soludo’s commitment to ensuring that the NYSC’s presence in the state continues to have a positive impact on the youth and the communities they serve.
