Renowned South Korean actor Song Jae-Rim, celebrated for his role in the K-drama The Moon Embracing the Sun, was found dead in his Seoul apartment on Tuesday, according to reports from Korean media outlet Soompi.
The 39-year-old actor was discovered at his residence in the Seongdong district on November 12, with initial investigations ruling out foul play.
Authorities reportedly recovered a two-page letter at the scene, though its contents remain undisclosed. While the official cause of death is yet to be confirmed, speculation has emerged surrounding the possibility of suicide. A full investigation is currently underway.
Song Jae-Rim, who began his career as a runway model before entering the acting world in 2009, achieved stardom through The Moon Embracing the Sun in 2012. He further showcased his versatility in notable projects such as Give Me Back My Cat, Grand Prix, On Your Wedding Day, and Tunnel 3D.
The actor’s funeral is scheduled for November 14 at a funeral home in Yeouido, where fans, colleagues, and loved ones are expected to gather to pay their respects. The sudden loss has left fans and industry peers in deep shock, with many sharing heartfelt tributes to honor his life and legacy.
