SriLankan Airlines Flight Searched in Colombo After Indian Security Alert

A SriLankan Airlines flight was thoroughly inspected at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport following a security warning from Indian authorities on Friday.

According to a statement from SriLankan Airlines, the alert was received while the aircraft was still on the ground. In response, all passengers and crew members were safely disembarked, and a comprehensive security check was conducted. No explosives or suspicious items were found during the inspection.

The airline confirmed that the aircraft, flight UL 505 bound for London, was cleared for departure after Sri Lanka’s security agencies completed their checks. SriLankan Airlines emphasized that the safety of its passengers and crew remains its highest priority.

The airline also assured the public of its continued cooperation with international and local authorities to uphold strict safety and security protocols. The nature of the security warning from Indian agencies has not yet been publicly disclosed.
