Nigeria’s Super Falcons will square off against host nation Morocco in the final of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after a thrilling 2-1 semi-final victory over reigning champions South Africa.

Rasheedat Ajibade opened the scoring just before halftime, converting a penalty after a handball by South Africa’s Bambanani Mbane. The Banyana Banyana responded in the 60th minute when Hildah Magaia was fouled by Osinachi Ohale, earning a spot-kick which she calmly converted to level the score.

But deep into stoppage time, Michelle Alozie unleashed a stunning long-range strike to snatch victory for the Falcons and book their place in the final, keeping alive hopes of a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

Earlier in Rabat, hosts Morocco defeated Ghana 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes. Goals from Sakina Ouzraoui and Stella Nyamekye had kept the scores level before the Atlas Lionesses held their nerve in the shootout, capitalizing on two missed penalties by the Black Queens.

The final will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, where Nigeria will aim to reclaim the continental crown on enemy soil.
