Sustain State2State interventions, reforms, USAID tasks Adamawa officials

The United States Agency International Development (USAID) team has called on Adamawa State officials to sustain various interventions and reforms for sustainable development in the state.

Mr Aduku Godwin, Regional advisor learning to read Project, USAID made the call at the review of Adamawa financial instructions in Yola on Wednesday.

He said sustaining the reforms would go along way to ensure development in various sectors of their intervention and for the development of the state.

He assured to continue collaboration with State2State Adamawa team to impact on ensuring good governance and quality education in the state.

Mr Machill Maxwell, USAID Project Management Specialist Integrated Governance expressed happiness on positive results that move Adamawa forward in the area of health, education and WASH sector.

“Everything that you are doing with financial regulation came down in ensuring that resources are utilize efficiently and can be accounted for.

“These are the things that we are lacking in the past, we had linkages all over the place and billions are spend but that does not translate to good things on ground”, he said.

Hajiya Nafisa Ado, Senior Technical Assistant and learning Advisor, learn to read Project, USAID said is a pleasure working with the state officials to strengthen the capacity of education and governance for transparency accountability and effectiveness.

According to her, similar collaboration are taking place in Bauchi, Gombe, Ebonyi and Sokoto States.
