A teenage athlete has opened up about the challenges he faces following the arrest of his child’s babysitter, Kathleen Douglass, who was taken into custody on January 15.
As part of her bail conditions, Douglass has been ordered to have no contact with the baby’s alleged father, a restriction he finds difficult to accept.
“I can’t talk to them. I wish I could, but I can’t, and it sucks,” he told DailyMail.
The teen also addressed the public perception of Caron, saying that seeing her labeled as a “predator” in the media has been distressing.
“I’ve seen it all, and it’s crazy,” he said. “The media is weird for saying that stuff.”
He blamed his father for triggering the controversy, revealing that the situation began with a Facebook post from him.
“All of this started with a Facebook post from my father,” he said. “I didn’t want her violated like that.”
He declined to provide further details but admitted that the ordeal has strained his relationship with his father.
“This stuff is so deep,” he explained. “Like, the world has no idea what she has done for my family. I love her with all my heart. She was there for me and my family.”
Despite the media attention, the teenager remains focused on his athletic career, hoping to secure a spot in a top college program. However, he acknowledged that the situation has been overwhelming.
“Since the story broke, I’ve been trying to stay focused, but it’s been a lot,” he admitted.
