Tems Wins Best African Music Performance at 67th Grammys
Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems has won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards.
The award ceremony took place on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where Tems emerged victorious with her hit song Love Me Jeje. She triumphed over strong contenders, including Tomorrow by Yemi Alade, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Sensational by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Higher by Burna Boy.
While accepting the award, the 29-year-old expressed gratitude, saying, “Dear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and bringing me this team.” She also dedicated the win to her mother.
This marks Tems’ second Grammy victory, following her 2023 win for Best Melodic Rap Performance for Wait For U, a collaboration with American rappers Future and Drake. With this latest achievement, she now holds the record for the most Grammy wins by a Nigerian artist.
