Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has caused a stir on social media after claiming that he serves the devil and credits him for his success.

The controversial artiste made the statement in a now-deleted social media post, according to PM News. His remarks quickly went viral, drawing widespread reactions from fans and critics.

Terry G also addressed false rumours circulating online about his death, assuring followers that he is alive and in good health.

“My phone has been buzzing since morning. People have been calling to check up on me. They saw something online about my R.I.P., saying Terry G don die. I came to clear your conscience… I am doing very fine, please stop that, I beg you in the name of God,” he said.

The singer further clarified comments he made in a past interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he admitted that his music does not glorify God.

“In that video I said, ‘I have fallen short of the glory of God… I’m not a gospel musician. I’m a secular musician. I sing for the devil. We sing for the devil, we praise the devil. We don’t glorify God, and it’s my business,’” he stated.

Concluding his remarks, Terry G reiterated that his success came from serving the devil, saying, “Don’t you know I’m serving the devil? He made me successful. I have cleared your conscience. Take am like that.”

The comments have since drawn strong backlash online, with many Nigerians expressing shock and disappointment over his admission.
