Nigerian singer Inetimi Alfred Odom, widely known as Timaya, has revealed why he admires internet sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.
Speaking in a recent interview, Timaya explained that Portable’s high energy and wild persona remind him of his own early days in the music industry.
Timaya shared that when Portable first gained attention, he told 2Baba, “That guy is me. I was a crazy guy back then.” He described how his youthful energy, much like Portable’s, was a deliberate strategy to make his mark in the music scene.
Recalling a recent performance by Portable at the Timaya Day event in Bayelsa, the “Dey Your Dey” hitmaker became emotional.
He admitted that the overwhelming crowd reaction moved him to tears, saying, “Seeing Portable on stage and the joy it brought my people in Bayelsa was everything to me.”
Timaya’s reflections highlight his connection to Portable’s rise and the similarities in their journeys as entertainers.
