Tinubu Leaves Lagos for Europe Ahead of Abu Dhabi Summit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, December 28, departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break and in preparation for an official visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
In a statement, the President’s spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said President Tinubu was invited by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026).
According to Onanuga, the week-long summit, scheduled to hold early in January, is an annual global platform that brings together leaders from government, business and civil society to discuss and shape the future of sustainable development.
He added that President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
