In a statement issued Saturday by Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu paid tribute to Dantata, who died at the age of 94 in the early hours of the day.

The President praised Dantata’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s economic development, philanthropy, and national unity, highlighting his impact across education, healthcare, and community welfare.

“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman who contributed significantly to the growth and development of our nation,” Tinubu stated.

He also reflected on his personal relationship with Dantata, describing him as a source of wise counsel and unwavering support.

“Alhaji Dantata will be remembered for his industry, diligence, steadfastness, and great commitment to national unity through his many business ventures and philanthropic activities that touched countless lives of Nigerians,” the President added.
