Tinubu Orders Military, Police, DSS to Hunt Down Terrorists Behind Kasuwan Daji Attack
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the nation’s security agencies to track down and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, vowing that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, the
President directed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to intensify operations to arrest those behind the killings and ensure the immediate rescue of all abducted victims.
President Tinubu issued the directives on Sunday following reports that terrorists attacked Kasuwan Daji, killing several villagers and abducting women and children. The attackers are suspected to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states in the aftermath of the United States’ air strike on Christmas Eve.
Condemning the attack in strong terms, the President described the incident as a direct challenge to the resolve of the nation and its people. He expressed deep sympathy to the families of the victims and extended his condolences to the Government and people of Niger State.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice,” President Tinubu declared.
He assured residents of Niger State that security agencies have been mandated to step up surveillance and military operations around vulnerable communities, particularly those located near forests that have served as hideouts for criminal elements.
President Tinubu also called on Nigerians to remain united and resolute in the face of the tragedy, warning against divisive rhetoric capable of undermining national security and cohesion.
“These times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison. United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary. We must reclaim the peace and security of these attacked communities,” the President said.
