President Bola Tinubu will visit Benue State on June 18 as part of renewed efforts to address the persistent violence plaguing communities across the state.

According to a statement issued on Monday by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the visit will allow the President to personally assess the impact of the recurring conflict that has led to significant loss of life and property.

“During the visit, President Tinubu will engage with traditional rulers, political figures, religious and community leaders, as well as youth groups, in a town hall meeting aimed at finding lasting solutions to the violence,” the statement read.

Ahead of the visit, the President has already deployed key officials to the state, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, the National Security Adviser, heads of intelligence agencies, and the chairmen of the Senate and House Committees on Defence.

President Tinubu, who has consistently condemned the violence in Benue, has urged leaders and residents to pursue peace and mutual understanding. He also extended condolences to families affected by the crisis.

Due to the Benue visit, the President has postponed his scheduled project commissioning in Kaduna to June 19.
