Renew Hope Continuity Marshals, a political support group, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain resolute in his quest to achieve sustainable development in Nigeria, despite emerging political distractions.
In a statement released Wednesday in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the group, Osawemwenhio Uwagboe, praised the president’s economic policies and called on Nigerians to sustain their support for the administration’s reforms.
Uwagboe warned against the resurgence of “political marabouts and jobbers” regrouping under various political labels, saying they pose a distraction to national progress.
“The president should not be deterred by the antics of political marabouts and jobbers who are currently regrouping under different political nomenclature,” Uwagboe stated.
He emphasized that Tinubu’s administration had taken bold steps to reposition Nigeria’s economy for long-term prosperity through tough but necessary policy decisions.
“By the total removal of fuel subsidy and other pungent economic policies being implemented, the Tinubu-led administration has demonstrated his commitment to save Nigeria’s future and generations of Nigerians yet unborn,” he said.
According to him, while policies such as deregulation and liberalisation may require short-term sacrifice, they are fundamental to achieving long-term national prosperity.
Uwagboe cited positive economic indicators such as the recent appreciation of the naira, declining petrol and food prices, and improved national security as signs of progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The recent downward slope in food prices, petrol prices, and the appreciation of the naira against the dollar are all indicative of his commitment to sustainable development,” he said.
He also commended Tinubu’s fight against insecurity and the rollout of people-oriented programmes in key sectors including agriculture, health, education, youth development, solid minerals, and energy.
Highlighting the group’s mission, Uwagboe described the Renew Hope Continuity Marshals as a coalition of past student leaders, youths, and young professionals across Nigeria united in their belief in Tinubu’s leadership.
“One unique thing about this group is that we belong to different political persuasions and beliefs but with a common denominator as a binding force: we believe in President Tinubu and that Nigeria will progress and prosper under him,” he said.
He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilising nationwide support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, leveraging its structure across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“The cardinal objective of the group is to promote the laudable giant strides of President Tinubu across the country as basis to mobilise for his re-election,” Uwagboe said.
He concluded by pledging the group’s continued support for national unity and its readiness to work with both the executive and legislative arms in the fight against corruption.
