Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have arrested three individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorist elements in Taraba State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, in Jalingo. The operation, conducted on Oct. 15 in Landey Jessy village, Lau Local Government Area, followed precise intelligence reports on bandit activities in the Kona Range of Mountains, which spans across Jalingo and Lau.
According to Oni, troops acted on information that led to the arrest of the three suspects, whose names were withheld. During the investigation, one suspect confessed to using his residence to hide weapons after attacks. Another suspect was identified by a victim who had escaped an attempted kidnapping in Ardo-Kola Local Government in September.
The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation. The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging the public to continue providing credible information to aid in the fight against terrorism and insecurity.
