Troops Eliminate Terrorist, Recover Weapons in Borno Clearance Operation

Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North-East Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised a terrorist and recovered arms and ammunition during a clearance patrol around Delwa and Tojiri villages in Borno State.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday, was executed in collaboration with local hunters and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

According to security sources, troops deployed to Delwa advanced towards Tojiri at about 9:00 a.m. when they came under fire from insurgents.

“The troops engaged the terrorists with heavy fire, neutralising one of them while others fled in disarray,” a source said.

During a subsequent sweep of the area, troops recovered one FN rifle, two FN magazines loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, two Tecno mobile phones, and three sachets of hard drugs.

No casualties were recorded on the side of the security forces.
