Trump Reportedly Weighs Commuting Diddy’s 50-Month Prison Sentence This Week

U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering commuting rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 50-month prison sentence as early as this week, according to a White House source cited by TMZ.

The 55-year-old artist is currently serving time for two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution. He was previously acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

Sources familiar with the discussions said Trump is “vacillating” on the decision, with some senior White House aides advising against the move. However, the insider noted that “Trump will do what he wants,” suggesting the decision could still go either way.

Diddy has so far served 13 months of his sentence under the Mann Act and could be released in about two years with standard credit — but a presidential commutation would nullify the remaining term entirely.

Following his sentencing earlier this month, Diddy’s legal team reportedly reached out to a senior White House official close to Trump to explore the possibility of a pardon or commutation. Days later, Trump confirmed he was aware of the request, saying, “I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy — he has asked me for a pardon.”

The potential clemency comes just days after Trump commuted former Congressman George Santos’ 87-month sentence for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, signaling an active period of presidential clemency decisions.
