The defendants, who were arraigned on a four-count charge of conspiracy, break-in, stealing, and breach of public peace, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Despite being granted bail, Yekeen and Ifadiran were unable to meet the conditions set by the court and were consequently remanded.

The case was adjourned to August 6 for hearing.

Earlier, the prosecuting counsel, Inspector Ayodele Ayeni, informed the court that the defendants committed the offence at about 1:00 a.m. on June 29 at Adabale-Iyemetu, Ibadan.

According to Ayeni, the two men unlawfully broke into the residence of one Ademola Adeoye and carted away a large gas cylinder valued at N75,000 and a smaller one valued at N25,000.
