U.S. Department of State Offers $10M Reward for Information on Mojtaba Khamenei, Senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Officials
The U.S. Department of State has announced a $10 million reward for information on Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, as well as several senior figures linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to U.S. officials, the reward is part of the State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program aimed at gathering intelligence on the IRGC and its leadership.
Washington has accused the powerful Iranian military organisation of orchestrating attacks against Americans and supporting terrorism across the region.
The reward targets Mojtaba Khamenei, who is believed to hold significant influence within Iran’s leadership structure following the death of his father.
The programme also seeks information about several senior figures within Iran’s security and intelligence apparatus, including Ali Asghar Hejazi, deputy chief of staff at the Office of the Supreme Leader, and Ali Larijani, secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran.
Other officials listed in the announcement include Yahya Rahim Safavi, a top military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, Esmail Khatib, the country’s intelligence minister, and Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s interior minister.
In a statement, the State Department said the IRGC, which is part of Iran’s official military structure, plays a central role in Tehran’s alleged use of terrorism as a tool of state policy.
The announcement comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States following recent military strikes and retaliatory actions across the Middle East.
