Ukrainian Parliament Confirms Nine New Cabinet Members

The Ukrainian parliament has approved the appointment of nine new cabinet members in a significant reshuffle aimed at enhancing the country’s leadership, local media reported. Andrii Sybiha has been appointed as Ukraine’s new Foreign Minister, while Vitaliy Koval will serve as the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Oleksii Kuleba, previously the deputy head of the President’s Office, was named Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories. In addition, Olha Stefanishyna was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Justice Minister.

Other key appointments include Mykola Tochytskyi as Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, Matvii Bidnyi as Minister of Youth and Sports, and Herman Smetanin as Minister of Strategic Industries. Natalia Kalmykova will take on the role of Minister for Veterans Affairs, and Svitlana Hrynchuk has been named Minister for Environment Protection and Natural Resources.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the cabinet reshuffle was designed to “strengthen Ukraine at different stages” as the country navigates its current challenges.
