University of Benin Secures N24.4M Loan Support for 332 Students
The University of Benin has received N24,412,500 from the Nigerian Education Loans Fund (NELFUND), earmarked to support 332 students with their school fees and upkeep. The announcement was made on Thursday, August 15, 2024, through NELFUND Nigeria’s official X account.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Lilian I. Salami, confirmed the receipt of the funds and expressed profound gratitude for this significant financial support. She noted that the funds will play a crucial role in easing the financial burdens on students, thereby enhancing their academic performance.
Professor Salami also commended the Federal Government and NELFUND for their ongoing efforts to elevate the quality of tertiary education in Nigeria. The university’s management extended their heartfelt thanks for the continued support and emphasized the positive impact of such initiatives on student welfare and educational standards.
