Self-styled activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has disclosed that he once urged singer Naira Marley to pursue a cyberbullying case against actress Iyabo Ojo over her alleged involvement in linking him to the death of his former signee, Mohbad. However, the singer declined, opting instead to leave her to divine judgment.
VDM made the revelation in a recent video shared via his TikTok page, where he recounted how Naira Marley had initially agreed to his plan to press defamation charges against the actress but later forgave her following what he described as an emotional apology.
“I told Naira Marley to detain Iyabo Ojo but he said Allah will judge. I told him to lose his cool the moment we enter the Police Commissioner’s office and say Iyabo Ojo’s defamatory remarks have ruined his career and tarnished his image. He said okay, but when he got there and Iyabo apologised in Yoruba, Naira Marley immediately forgave her. I almost died where I was sitting. I was so upset and disappointed,” he narrated.
VDM added that the apology occurred at the Lagos State Commissioner of Police’s office, where he and Naira Marley had gone to initiate the complaint. He noted that Naira Marley’s associate, Sam Larry, was also taken aback by the sudden forgiveness.
“When Samlarry saw that Naira Marley had accepted Iyabo Ojo’s apology, he protested against it. I was signalling Naira Marley not to accept the apology because I know Iyabo Ojo won’t keep to her end of the agreement. Samlarry shed tears,” he recalled.
Recall that a court acquitted both Naira Marley and Sam Larry of any complicity in the death of Mohbad four months ago.
