Super Eagles and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has revealed a heartwarming ritual he follows before every game: speaking with his daughter.
In an interview with Complete Sports on Sunday, Osimhen shared that his daughter’s voice provides him with inspiration and strength.
“My daughter,” Osimhen said when asked who he calls before matches. “I also speak with her mum – my wife. Most of the time, we pray together before I head into a game. But for sure, I must speak with my daughter, hear her voice, and then I’m good to go. They are my strength.”
Osimhen also expressed his excitement over Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
“It feels good. It gives one some kind of relief. We deserve to be there. Congratulations to the entire team and massive credit to the coach, staff, and all Nigerians who supported us,” he said.
Looking ahead to the Super Eagles’ final qualifying game against Rwanda on Monday, Osimhen said the team is determined to end on a high note. “We want to win convincingly in front of our fans. After that, we’ll focus on preparing for the World Cup qualifiers next year,” he stated.
Osimhen also shared insights into his aerial prowess, which has contributed to his success as a prolific striker.
“Growing up, I learned from senior players who excelled with their feet and heads. I studied both aspects and worked hard on them. I think I’ve done well so far,” the 25-year-old said.
Osimhen’s personal rituals and dedication continue to inspire fans as he solidifies his reputation as one of Africa’s finest forwards.
