Why I Started Working at 17 – Nancy Isime Shares Early Career Journey
Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has revealed her plans for early retirement, explaining that she began working at 17 to achieve financial independence. Speaking on a recent episode of the CreativiTEA podcast, Isime discussed her determination to retire early and her commitment to building a strong portfolio along the way.
“I’ve been working since I was 17, and early retirement is the plan. I’m putting in all the work now so that when I retire at an age people might consider too early, my achievements will speak for themselves,” Isime said.
The actress also highlighted the importance of enjoying the journey rather than solely focusing on the end goal. “We tend to want to see the end result before we do anything. I’m intentional about enjoying the process and the journey, knowing you never truly arrive,” she added.
Reflecting on her struggles, Isime emphasized that challenges are not something to be ashamed of. “If you go through my Instagram page, you can scroll all the way down. I don’t delete anything because it’s like a memory book for me,” she said.
Isime concluded by sharing her belief in building a solid foundation for success, referencing a biblical principle. “There’s a part of the Bible that says when your foundation is built on Christ, it’s like building on solid rock. That’s what I’ve done, building my way through life,” she noted.
