Wike Orders New IBB Golf Club Committee to Begin Work Immediately
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has directed the newly appointed Interim Management Committee of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Golf Club to immediately commence their duties.
The directive was announced on Sunday in Abuja through a statement by Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the minister.
The committee is chaired by Dr. Peter Deshi, with Mr. Yomi Oyelola serving as secretary. Other members include Otunba Elegbeleye, Nanwor Mamven, Mrs. Ekanem Ekwueme, Arabi Bello, Lawan Aboki, Okey Nnaedozie, Fred Otobo, and Julius Fadairo.
Olayinka stated that the committee would operate under the supervision of the club’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, President of the Court of Appeal.
He noted that Wike reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to restoring order and efficiency at the IBB Golf Club, which had recently faced internal challenges. The minister also clarified that the club remains the property of the FCT Administration.
