A woman was briefly detained after her comment about buying “drugs” for her husband led to a misunderstanding and police intervention.

In a video shared on her TikTok handle, she recounted how she had gone to a pharmacy to purchase medication for her sick husband. While leaving, she called him and said, “I got two drugs for you. When you use them, you’ll be strong.”

Unbeknownst to her, people nearby overheard and assumed she was referring to illicit substances. Shortly after, the police arrived, demanding to know where the “drugs” were.

Confused, she showed them the medication she had purchased, explaining that she had only meant medicine. However, the officers were unconvinced and took her to the police station for questioning.

She remained in custody until authorities conducted a search of her residence, after which she was released.

Reflecting on the incident, she humorously blamed her ordeal on her “Nigerian English,” saying, “This is not just putting me in trouble, but in a big mess.”
